The Painting That Changed The World
It was a Friday morning and Amy had just woken up. She was eating her breakfast when her phone rang. She picked it up and answered.
“Hello?” Amy asked.
“Hey Amy! It’s me Jenna. Kathy and I were wondering if you wanted to accompany us on our trip to the Mackenzie Art Gallery in Regina. Would you want to come?”
“Oh, hey Jenna! I would love to go to the art gallery! Is it possible for you guys to pick me up?” Amy asked excitedly.
“Yeah, for sure. We’ll be at your house at 10am.” Jenna said.
“Ok, thanks a lot Jenna!” Amy said
“Anytime! I’ll see you tomorrow at 10!” Jenna said.
“Ok, bye Jenna!” Amy said.
Jenna said bye back and they both hung up. Amy couldn’t wait for tomorrow. She already went into her room to decide what to wear with her friends.
2 hours later.
“I can’t decide what to wear!” Amy said.
“Should I wear my jeans or a dress?” she asked herself while digging through her closet. “You know what, I think I’m going to wear my jeans tomorrow.” She said as she pulled her favorite pair out from behind her sweaters.
The next day.
Amy woke up extra early to get prepared for her day out with her friends at the art gallery. She showered, got dressed, did her makeup, ate her breakfast and listened to the radio while she waited for Jenna and Cathy to pull op on the driveway.
20 minutes later there was a knock on the door.
“Sorry we were late. We ran into a bit of a traffic jam.” Cathy said.
“No it’s fine. You guys gave me some time to listen to the radio. Have you been hearing what’s going on lately in the war?” Amy asked curiously.
“Yeah, that’s devastating. I feel so bad for all the families who have lost their family members and friends fighting for their freedom.” Said Cathy.
“Yeah, I wouldn’t know what to do if I lost one of my family members of close friends like you and Jenna.” Amy said.
“Well we better get going. We want to be there for when it opens.” Cathy said.
“Ok, just let me grab my coat.” Amy said quickly.
Amy quickly grabs her coat and heads out the door behind Cathy. They get in the car.
“Hey Jenna!” Amy said.
“Hey Amy, I like your outfit!” Jenna said.
“Thanks! I couldn’t decide what to wear yesterday.” Amy said happily.
20 minutes later.
“I’m sure glad we live so close to Regina!” Cathy said.
“Yeah, it feels like we are just driving from one side of the city to the other.” Jenna said.
“We sure are lucky.” Amy said.
15 minutes later they arrived at the art gallery. They all got out and went inside and started looking.
“Seeing all these paintings sure makes me want to paint.” Amy said.
“You should Amy! You are a really good artist!” said Jenna.
“Well, I guess I could give it a try!” Amy said.
“We can come over when we get home to help you set up and give your ideas, if you want.” Cathy said.
“Yeah, that would be great. Thanks guys!” Amy said.
They all went to Amy’s house and got prepared for Amy to start painting.
“Hey Amy, where do you keep your paints?” Jenna asked.
“They are on the top self of my closet in the hall!” Amy replied.
“Where should I put the canvas?” Cathy asked.
“Just put it in the living room.” Amy answered.
5 minutes later they all met up in the living room with the things they needed.
“Well I think we got all the things we need.” Jenna said.
“It’s a good thing I have 3 canvases! I have no clue how rusty I’m going to be!” Amy said.
About 6 hours later, Amy had finished all 3 of her canvases. Her first 2 weren’t very good. She painted a dog and a baseball field. As she had just finished her third one and her friends had both left. The third painting had looked mysterious. It had a mixture of grey, reddish purple, and bluish grey. It seemed like Amy’s mind had just taken over and let all her imagination out onto the canvas. Even Amy didn’t know what she painted.
She let them dry out for about 3 days then decided to put on the finishing touches. She did her first 2 canvases in an hour. Amy put them to the side in the breeze of the window to dry again. She picked up the third one from the back and put it on her stand to do the finishing touches. She grabbed her paint brush and paints, dipped the brush into one of the paints then tried to start stroking her brush on the canvas but couldn’t. The tip of her brush had vanished into nothing. She pulled her hand away from the canvas and the tip reappeared. Amy was confused. She tried to put her hand through and it also vanished. Amy had a big problem. She didn’t know what to do. She didn’t know if she should tell her friends or not either. She decides to just leave it.
A few days later, Amy’s curiosity forces her to try and put her whole body through the painting. She got through and realized she was in Germany. About 5 years before Hitler was born. She realized that World War 2 hasn’t started yet. She knew the war caused her family to work longer and harder. She realized she could change and save the world forever.
The first 3 years in Germany, she spent her time learning how to speak German. She also learned how to cook every German meal created. She practiced everyday until the news got out that Hitler’s parents were pregnant with Hitler.
The parents needed a cook to cook for them while Hitler’s mother was pregnant. That’s when Amy applied to be the cook. She and 300 others prepared different dishes.
5 days later, the family had decided on who they wanted to be the cook. It was Amy! She couldn’t believe that her plan was falling into place. Now all she had to do was play it cool. Amy knew that if she messed this up, she would be sentenced prison time if not death. She had been practicing for this moment for 5 years of her life. Amy didn’t want all that time to go to waste.
Amy had to wait for the perfect time to set the poison in the meal for Hitler’s family. A couple weeks before the time was right, she said she seen a rat and told the guard to place some rat poison behind the counter. She took it and put it in a can.
About 2 weeks later Amy knew it was the time. She made a simple beef stew with vegetables. She threw in her spices and the rat poison then let it cool off for 30 minutes. She poured 2 bowls and set them on the table. She waited for them to take their first bites then ran out of the mansion and down the street. She looked back and seen 2 guards chasing her. They were yelling “What’s wrong”. She didn’t answer and kept running as fast as she could to the painting. She remembered that it was in a shop on the left side of the road. She knew it was on a corner and t was in the back of the shop. She ran in, through the back and jumped head first into the painting and appeared back in her house. She burned it as fast as she could and left no evidence. She turned on the radio and it had nothing to do with the war.
Amy had saved the world from war and Hitler. Amy was a life saver.
